World famous talk show host Oprah Winfrey had one unsolicited advice for Charice, the young Filipino singing sensation who has become an overnight celebrity. Oprah told her to set aside love life first and to concentrate on her successful singing career.
Charice, who was dubbed "the most talented girl in the world" by Oprah herself, said she sees nothing wrong about following her godmother's advice.
"It's really OK. I'm not ready for that now and I am really enjoying myself," she said.
ABS-CBN News reports:
'She told me that she knows I'm focused on my career and family. I think she wants me to maintain that because the problem of some teenagers in the US is that when they fall in love, they lose their focus and there are negative issues that destroy their image'.
Charice has just landed a role in the popular American TV show Glee, where high school students form a musical club and perform at regional tournaments.
The 18-year old Filipino singer is being managed by musical genius David Foster. Her first international self-titled album has peaked at number eight on the US billboard charts
"You are a force to be reckoned with. That voice comes from something bigger than yourself," Winfrey raved after one performance.
Charice has just arrived in Manila from the US for a series of shows aimed at promoting her album. She is scheduled to return to the US on July 18 for the Glee taping where she will play a Filipino exchange student.
